The Liberty Square Storyteller Theater

This is an idea for a new show to take place in Liberty Square. The Liberty Square Storyteller Theater would celebrate the great American tradition of sharing stories. It would be unique in the fact that it would combine and audio-animatronic figure with an on-screen film. The queue would be a typical colonial style theater and the show would take place in an average size auditorium. On the right front of the stage would be an audio-animatronic figure in a rocking chair. This old man would serve as both your narrator and host. Several famous American folk tales would comprise the show. It would be narrated by the figure and there would be live action representations of the tales played on the screen. This is just an attraction about a great American experience that everyone remembers from their childhood.

This attraction could really become special during the Holidays. Specifically, during Halloween and Christmas. In the Halloween season, guests would gather around to hear the tale of the headless horsemen. And of course during the Christmas season, guests would hear the story of the classic Christmas Carole. I believe this would help keep the show fresh and give guests a reason to go back throughout the year.

What do you think? Would this help Liberty Square become a more prominent section of the park?

  1. Good idea(s). To keep to the time period of Liberty Square, they could have stories from the American revolution leading up to the 1800s. The shows/stories could be either random, or change throughout the day, like every couple of hours. I like the holiday ideas as well. I wrote up a story change a while back on my own blog for Carousel of Progress where the attraction would know the date and time and the story would incorporate it into the show.
I think it would be neat too, if they could also take into account changing weather. So, if it were a cold, rainy kind of day, the narrator might "remember a day just like this one", or he could say, "it was a day almost as hot as this one, and we were wearing a lot more clothing than some of you".

  2. Thanks for the great comment grumpyfan! I like the idea of the stories changing. That would keep the guests coming back for more. And it would be awesome if subtle changes like that can be adapted to the attraction.

  3. The idea is great it reminds me of the hall of presidents ride in Liberty Square. Yo may all want to add that the nrroroator is Uncle Sam. And what if you made the stories come to life.

Kinda like the Ellen Degenourous ride in EPCOT the narrorator (Uncle Sam) can introduce a story and then while he is telling the tale the ride commence like a moving theater(big car like in Ellen Ride) and in each scene of the ride Uncle Sam (narroator) is allways there telling you the story.
